Project PolifonIA closes its activity with a concert

Developed by the University of Alicante, the Valencian Institute for Artistic Teaching (ISEA CV), and the National Library of Spain, the PolifonIA project leverages AI to recover historic musical scores. Using the MuRET tool, PolifonIA applies optical music recognition to digital images, enabling these works to be transcribed and brought back to life.

During an event at Alicante’s ADDA on October 26th 2024, pieces recovered by the project’s technology dating from 1533 to 1830 were performed, including compositions by 17th-century composer Juan de Serqueira.

The PRAIG team attended alongside project directors Jorge Calvo-Zaragoza and David Rizo.
